Geometric Abstractionist, Illustrator, Surrealist
A native of North Carolina, I’ve spent most of my adult life living and working in New York City. Living in an environment like New York it’s nearly impossible to not be influenced by the city’s diverse creative energy and after a time I was inspired to explore my own creative nature. I’ve spent 20 years experimenting with various traditional and non-traditional art forms, including working with oils, acrylics, watercolors, pen, ink, and colored pencil.
Inspired by artists such as Wassily Kandinsky, Piet Mondrian, Frank Lloyd Wright and Joan Miro; I have always been attracted to shapes, symmetry, and the relationship between random objects and lines that come together to form complex structures. I typically have no set idea before I begin an abstract piece. For me the creation the work is a meditative process and the creations seem to build themselves as I go.
My series of works have included Abstract Geometry, Silhouettes, Paper Dolls, and most recently I have participated in the development and evolution of Popademic and Portraits of POP.
Each unique work of art is created by me with the desire that it will bring enjoyment and a little magic to those who view and collect them. It is my hope that those who encounter my artwork will enjoy the view of the world through my eyes.
