Marilyn Magic

Filed under: Marilyn Monroe, Pinups, RH Drawings — Tags: , , , , — admin @ 10:11 am August 24, 2010

This piece is part of an ongoing series of works from my Marilyn Monroe Series. I’ve been working on this Particular piece for awhile now and it’s still under development, but I wanted to show it.  The title at the moment is “Marilyn Magic” but is subject to change as the piece progresses.

Marilyn Monroe ~ Sneak Peek

Filed under: Marilyn Monroe, Original Works, Portraits — Tags: , , , — admin @ 11:27 am June 5, 2009

I’ve been working on a new Marilyn in preparation for a painting that I’m considering. I’m not sure if this is the one that I’ll use or not, but I’m hoping it will turn out good just the same. It’s 8 x 10, on bristol, and the full piece will be available to view or purchase as soon as I’m finished. I still have a ways to go, but so far she’s coming along nicely.

“Seductive Misfit”
The Spectrum Set

The Marilyn Monroe series is a project that I’ve recently delved into. I have always had a great fondness for Marilyn Monroe; the immense beauty of her soul and the tragedy that shaped it has always intrigued me. When it was suggested that I perhaps work on a series of Marilyn Monroe portraits I was hesitant. I wasn’t sure at first that I would be able to capture the essence of this incredible woman to the degree that I experienced it.
“Love Nest”
The Black Set

I hope that I’ve been able to, in some small way, capture some sense of the dark and tragic side of Marilyn with my as well as the love and light side that she brought to everyone through my “Spectrum Set” and I’m sure that I’ll be working on more pieces for the series as time progresses.

Chaos & Carnivals!

I’ve just recently finished two new ACEO cards from the Abstract Geometry Series.  These two will be offered as limited editions through The Trading Card Museum Plaza & The RedX Gallery Store on eBay.

Silhouettes

I recently started working on a series of Silhouettes. My husband Joey inspired the idea with his own series of silhouettes. Seemed like a great idea so I added my own style and went from there. This is one I’ve only just released as ACEO editions which is now available.

Thanks for looking!

Meet Max

Filed under: My Pets, RH Drawings — Tags: , , , , , , , , , — Rhonda @ 11:07 am July 18, 2008

Meet Deco Max. Max is a real cool cat………..most of the time. He has is own unique charm, and is curious to a fault. He may seem to be playing it cool, but there is always something on his mind. Sometimes, he chooses to share and sometimes not. But make no mistake about it, he’s always thinking. Maybe he’s planning to take over the world, or just wondering what might be for lunch. At any given time of the day it can be one or the other or anything in between. It’s anyone’s guess.

As anyone who has had the honor of having a cat companion will attest, these beautiful and mysterious creatures each have their own unique personality, style, humor, and temper. Max is a composite of all the cats that I’ve known and loved throughout the years, and is an homage to their unique feline style and sensibility.

Abstract Geometry

The foundation of my artwork is the Abstract Geometry series, which was inspired by artists such as Frank Lloyd Wright and Joan Miro.  This is an ongoing series and I’m currently working on several new pieces to add.  To get a better feel of the style, please visit my gallery to see older works from this series that I’ve recently added.  I hope you enjoy them all.

Here’s one of my personal favorites…
